Parssinen and Theologis Become MILLIONS Online Champions

Eelis Parssinen is a MILLIONS Online champion after the Finnish high stakes specialist came out on top of a 50-strong field in the $5,200 6-Max Omaha High Roller event. Parssinen’s quest to win this event did not get off to the best of starts because he busted in 48th place. The Finn dusted himself down, re-entered, and never looked back.

The top nine finishers won a share of the $250,000 prize pool. Spare a thought for Benjamin Juhasz who was the first player to bust from the tournament before buying back in and popping the money bubble. Poker can be a cruel game at times.

Bujtas Laszlo and Yuri Dzivielevski finished in ninth and eighth-place respectively, the latter’s exit setting the seven-handed final table.

Two of Parssinen’s fellow Finns were the first duo out of the door. Sami Kelopuro could not get going at the final table and had to be content with the $12,005 seventh-place prize. Samuli Sipila fared a little better, his sixth-place finish awarding him $13,949.

Adam Hendrix crashed out in fifth for $16,650 before Ka Kwan Lau from Andorra fell by the wayside and added $22,489 to his partypoker account.

Heads-up was set when Maximilian Lehmanski bowed out in third, a finish worth $32,426. His exit left Parssinen and Dante Fernandes heads-up. Fernandes won a PLO high roller earlier in the series but the Brazilian had to make do with the $49,736 runner-up prize this time around.

Congratulations to Parssinen who got his hands on the 6-Max Omaha High Roller title and the $80,981 prize that came with the glory of victory.

Theologis Takes Down $3,200 Mix-max Event

Alexandros Theologis won the $3,200 Mix-Max event and saw his partypoker bankroll grow by a cool $74,937. Victory in these high buy-in events is no easy feat,. This was especially true about this event because the field was packed with poker’s superstars.

Team partypoker’s Patrick Leonard (10th – $7,859) saw a return on his investment, as did Andras Nemeth who burst the final table bubble and was the last player not to bank a five-figure payout.

Samy Ouwllani and Andrii Novak bit the dust early into the final table with Alex Foxen joining them on the sidelines, albeit with $17,717 in tow.

partypoker LIVE regular Pavel Plesuv ran out of steam in fourth, a finish worth $24,014, before Rui Ferreira saw his tournament end abruptly in third-place for $34,855.

Nobody would have batted an eyelid if Theologis and Adrian Mateos struck a deal when heads-up, especially with a $25,000 difference in payments. No deal was struck, however, meaning Theologis got his hands on a $74,937 haul when he dispatched Mateos in second place, leaving Mateos to a $49,928 consolation prize.
